COURSE LIST
ENRICHED AIR NITROX

Enriched Air Nitrox offers so many physiological and practical benefits that it's hard to understand why anyone would still want to dive on air! With its elevated oxygen content, diving EANx means less nitrogen in you body, longer bottom times and less post dive fatigue - benefits that every diver can appreciate!

IANTD's range of Enriched Air Nitrox diver training programs allow you to develop your skills and knowledge of EANx diving in a safe, progressive and controlled manner under the direct supervision of your IANTD Instructor.

Building upon your existing knowledge and skills, you'll learn the benefits of EANx diving and develop your dive skills to safely and competently plan and conduct dives utilising EANx. For over twenty years, our industry-leading range of EANx programs have been at the very cutting edge of diver training...

DISCOVER NITROX DIVING

IANTD
ESSENTIALS

The Essentials programme can benefit ANY diver. Stepping back from skills and depth progression, it offers an indepth look at gas use, breathing, gear configuration, linking physical and mental performance.

It shies away from a one size fits all approach, preferring to equip the diver with an appreciation of options available and which might suit their diving best. The result is a diver who is more knowledgeable and thinks more, making diving more efficient, safer and enjoyable.

It's an ideal preparation for high end Trimix or Cave course, or as a tune up in it's own right.

IANTD ENRICHED AIR
NITROX DIVER

The first step on the nitrox ladder, the IANTD EANx Diver program is designed to provide recreational divers with a safer breathing medium for the sport diving range. Divers may elect to dive the EANx on air tables, EANx tables or computers. This course covers the use of EANx mixes in the range of 21% to a maximum of 40% oxygen.

The IANTD EANx Diver program covers dives in the 12 to 39 msw (40 to 130 fsw) depth range with the emphasis on using EANx 32 & 36. The program may be taken on its own or combined with a variety of IANTD Advanced or Specialty Diver training programs.

It is not necessary to carry out dives to qualify as an IANTD EANx Diver, but is it recommended that divers perform two dives on an EANx mixture of between 24% and 40% oxygen.

COURSE DETAILS

Prerequisites:

  • Must be a qualified as an Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorisation, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval
Equipment Requirements:

  • IANTD EANx Diver Student Kit
  • Equipment used during this program must be appropriate for the environment and in good working order

IANTD SELF-SUFFICIENT
DIVER

The Self Sufficient diver programme is designed to boost in water confidence and promote good responses to testing circumstances such as buddy separation or gas failure management.

The programme focusses on gas supply, gear, skills, physical ability and mental preparation for better diving in teams, as an instructor, task based project diving or progression into technical diving.

The aim is to build solid platform with resilient skills, increasing the reassurance for divers and their buddies that problems will not escalate into dangerous circumstances. Self sufficient diver is an excellent intro to twinset diving for any diver from AOW upwards.

COURSE DETAILS

Prerequisites:

  • Must be a qualified as an Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of XXX years of age with a parent or guardian authorisation, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval

IANTD
DEEP DIVER

This course has a 40m no stop limit, but is beyond comparison with other 40m certifications. The detailed knowledge and thorough diving skills prepare you for either progression to ART, or for those days when you stray into 'safety deco'.

Deep can be taken on either twinset or sidemount and covers deep diving, shutdown skills, DSMB ascents and robust preparation for dives to 40m.

IANTD ADVANCED
NITROX DIVER

The foundation program for safe self sufficient diving. The IANTD Advanced Nitrox program covers the core skills from the technical diver training programs including the use of dual outlet single cylinders or twinsets with central isolation manifolds and decompression skills and procedures using bottom mixes upto 40% nitrox and decompression mixes upto 100% oxygen to a maximum depth of 40 msw.

An essential component of this program is equipment configuration which is covered in a series of lectures and practical workshops. The aim being to construct a safe self sufficient equipment configuration that is streamlined, accessible and promotes familiarity. Theory covered includes the EAD concept, oxygen physiology, % CNS 02 & pulmonary toxicity tracking, the use of EANx as a decompression gas, gas switching techniques, partial pressures and best mixes.

This program qualifies divers to do dive to 40 msw and perform decompression stops utilising EANx decompression mixtures with an oxygen concentration no greater than 1.5 pO2 for a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

COURSE DETAILS

Prerequisites:

  • Must be qualified as an IANTD EANx Diver and IANTD Deep Diver with proof of a minimum of 30 logged dives or sufficient experience to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorisation, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval
Equipment Requirements:

  • IANTD Advanced Nitrox Student Kit
  • A single cylinder with a dual outlet or a manifolded twinset
  • A safety or decompression gas cylinder rigged as either a pony or stage cylinder. Gas cylinders must be oxygen clean and oxygen serviceable where needed

IANTD TECHNICAL
NITROX DIVER

This program is designed to train divers to conduct dives to depths between 30 msw (100 fsw) and a maximum depth of 51 msw (170 fsw) using and EANx mixture, to provide greater understanding of custom blend breathing gas mixtures, a complete knowledge of the limits of any EANx mixture and the use of EANx and oxygen for decompression.

The course covers a broad level of theory and skills, focusing on the bailout procedures needed to conduct extended range dives. A major emphasis on the theory is dive planning for all failure scenarios. The course develops the core survival skills such as isolation manifold shutdowns to a higher level of performance, giving the diver increased confidence to conduct extended range dives.

The knowledge and skills taught in this program qualifies divers to safely conduct dives to 51 msw (170 fsw) and perform decompression stops using EANx or oxygen.
